A bachelor in pharmacy (B.Pharm) is an Undergraduate Degree in the field of pharmacy. The future of Pharmaceutical industry holds a wide range of career opportunities for young aspirants. They can work as a pharmacist in the whole sale pharmaceutical companies, in the drug house or in the hospitals. They are in demand in the field of clinical research, drug testing and documentation, quality control, government health departments etc. Today most of the pharmacists are involved in clinical trials worldwide. They are used to evaluating new drug products and preparing documentation on the effectiveness and safety of new drugs. Pharmacists are involved extensively in the manufacturing, research, quality control and marketing of Pharmaceuticals. One can also undertake Postgraduate training for careers as academics or research or in specialized fields such as toxicology.

Bachelor of Pharmacy or B.Pharma is a 4 years undergraduate degree that teaches students about drug synthesis, dosage formulation, analysing the chemical nature and preclinical testing of new drugs

1: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following - Mathematics / Computer Science / Biotechnology / Biology. Obtained at least 40% marks (35% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. Candidates who have passed D.Pharm course approved by Pharmacy Council of India shall also be eligible to this course and can be admitted directly to II Year.

Age: 17 years and above

Every candidate shall undergo practical training in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing House / Approved Hospital / CSIR research labs for a period of not less than one hundred and fifty hours to be covered in not less than 45 days after completing III year or IV year.

Candidate should submit two copies of the training report duly certificated by the authorities of the training center in which he/she has undergone training, duly accepted and certified by the Head of the Department.

Candidates studying in final year of the course shall visit several pharmaceutical manufacturing houses as a supplement to their academic training and submit a report to the satisfaction of the Head of Department where he / she has studied.

During each academic year three sets of exams for theory paper will be conducted for maximum marks of 30 and an average of best two exams will be considered.

For practical papers internal assessment marks for maximum marks of 30 will be awarded considering the student's regularity, manipulative skill, and viva voice during regular practical classes.
